Red Dress Gala

One of the annual and most imporatant events put on by my sorority, Alpha Phi, is the Red Dress Gala. This is a philanthropy event benefitting the American Heart Association and we contribute by holding a large gala with various members of the community. At this gala we hold a silent auction to raise money for the AHA which is why this event is so important. 

I was a member of the Marketing Team in 2009. During this year, the team chose to reach out to local business near the school campus in hopes of combining efforts to raise even more money for the cause. This turned out to be extremely beneficial for us. One of the companies we reached out to was Z Pizza in Linda Vista. They agreed to donate 25% of the proceeds of a customer's entire order to benefit the AHA.

I was responsible for writing all of the text on the Xtra Cash N Gold website. As a small business startup, my goal was to position the company as one that is very community oriented. The steps involved in buying and selling gold can often be confusing to anyone not familiar with the process. I set out to explain in detailed layman's terms exactly how everything happens step by step. I felt that it would be essential in such a small community to voice the opinions of past customers who had enjoyed their experiences. This led to the "Testimonials" page which provides potential customers with others' reviews.
